EiA2 - Rupert's Return |

|
Overview EDUCATION IN ACTION 2-Venture is an ambitious and exciting walking expedition through the goldfields region of Western Australia. A satellite-linked, human-powered unit moving as a highly interactive, educational project. The EiA2 experience will combine the thrill of an authentic expedition with expansive and content-rich educational potential. The best way to learn about a country is to walk through it and live in it. The EiA2 expedition represents the most effective way to do this. Our expedition cart is totally self-sufficient - there are no backup vehicles. This not only enables us to travel almost anywhere, in the true style of the explorers of the 19th and 20th centuries, but also provides an authentic and comprehensive 'back-to-basics' Australian bush experience. Concept: The EIA-Venture is a fun, exciting way to introduce IT, computers and the internet to those not familiar with their use in the teaching environment. For those already using computers and the internet, it's a great reason to use the internet as a resource and learning tool. The expedition will function as an adventurous and stimulating visual learning and motivational tool, aiming to integrate IT with traditional subjects and blurring the boundaries between subjects normally taught separately. It is discovery and thematic learning-based, teaches high technology, communications and writing skills, gives students an insight to the outside world and encourages interaction. It will stimulate thinking about the world beyond the classroom and build confidence in those who join us on this incredible venture. Content:
Aims: As well as providing the experiences outlined above for the school children, there is another aim of this walk - that is, to raise money for the children and workers at Okkam Farm / Orphanage in Thailand (pictured left). Click here to read a copy of the latest newsletter from Rev. Alan A. Shepherd of God’s Love & Care Ministries International Inc. where he talks about the children at the school and the desparate situation they are in.
