Two questions I am often asked are: "How are your feet?" and, "What kind of shoes do you wear?". Well, after many years of trial and error, one thing is certain - if I don't look after my feet, my feet won't look after me.

I'm a boot man through and through and was over the moon when Footwear Industries of WA agreed to be the sole principal sponsor of Oz-Trek. I knew a company willing to have their boots worn across such a distance had courage and beilief in their product.

I wore 2 pairs of worn-in boots (Riverina 130mm ankle-high, lace-up hiker) during the 5 months of the walk, changing every week or so. My major concern was the sole wearing through - something that had proven a problem in the past. One 200km walk I had done wore through the tread on both boots.

However, with these boots, even after 4100km, both boots were in good shape with plenty of tread. Adding on the distance the 2 pairs had done prior to the walk, id say the total was about 4700km (2350km each).

Absolutely amazing.
